How to Use These Recipe Cards
These cards work brilliantly as part of a restaurant or café role play area.
Children can pretend to be chefs, servers or customers, reading from the recipe cards to prepare meals in the play kitchen.
You could even set up a “daily special” board where a different recipe is featured each day to keep play fresh and exciting.
Also as I mentioned before, choose cards for different setups. The cupake one is great for a birthday party or cake shop role play.
Pairing these recipe cards EYFS resources with ingredients from your home corner (real or pretend!) encourages children to practice language and communication, follow instructions and build confidence in their reading.
You could also include clipboards, order pads, and chef hats to extend the experience and make it even more immersive.
